From hormones and metabolism to cardiovascular health and the cellular function of nearly every system in the body, women experience aging through a fundamentally different biological lens than men.
We believe women deserve specialized care that reflects their unique aging process and a high-touch team that proactively manages their health through a critical window of life and beyond.
Investing in health as hormones begin to shift can profoundly impact lifespan and healthspan.
At Era, we believe women deserve care that reflects our unique aging process. That’s why we have partnered with the world’s top researchers and clinicians to develop the first standards of care for women over the age of 35, with specific focus in perimenopause and menopause.
For many women, care needs fluctuate dramatically during the transition from perimenopause to menopause. We believe women deserve care from a team that proactively plans for and responds to their changing health needs, and also advocates for them and quarterbacks their care across the entire health system.
Inside the clinic, we focus on comprehensive, longitudinal care across all aspects of women’s health, with the goal of improving quality of life today while helping preserve long-term health, function, and resilience. Outside the clinic, we support research, clinician education, and community initiatives aimed at improving the understanding of women’s health during perimenopause and menopause.
We created Era to demonstrate what the best healthcare for women in the world should look like. Our goal is to take our learnings from this model and scale them so that every woman will have access to this level of care. Members of Era are changing the way care will be delivered to future generations of women.
The existing healthcare system operates in silos because incentive & reimbursement structure for collaboration is not there. Our care model relies on finding and collaborating with the deepest thinkers in across healthcare and science. These collaborators support existing members care, but are a part of building the new standard of care for women everywhere.

Dr. McClellan has spent over three decades at the forefront of gynecological, hormone, and menopause care. As an early advocate and pioneer in the field of integrated women’s care, her approach considers the “whole woman” and not just isolated health concerns. She is widely admired by both patients and colleagues for her exceptional ability to listen, intuit, and discern subtle patterns in patient presentations, whether routine or complex. She is a leader in the world of personalized hormone care. These skills have resulted in breakthroughs in clinical care and significantly improved outcomes for her patients. Dr. McClellan co-authored the authoritative book So Stressed: The Ultimate Stress-Relief Plan for Women, which not only illuminates the unique features of the female stress response but also offers practical techniques to help women manage the overactive stress response. Before co-founding Era Women’s Health, Dr. McClellan founded and led a prestigious women’s care practice in Newport Beach, California. She served as chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital, where she played a pivotal role in developing their integrated women’s health care program. Over her 10 years at Hoag, she also contributed as a consultant, women’s health advisor, and board member of the Hoag Foundation. Dr. McClellan has also held the role of Chief Medical Officer and the first practicing gynecologist at Tia Health Clinic, and was a co-founder at Midi, a healthcare company providing virtual care for women navigating perimenopause and menopause who live in areas where they don't have access to proper medical care.

Dr. Chan is a board-certified internist with a Master of Public Health, she spent nearly two decades at Providence, one of the largest health systems in the country, where she led with vision and compassion. Her roles spanned Medical Director, Chief Population Health Officer, and Co-Chair of Southern California’s Medical Director Collaborative, all while actively caring for the greatest number of patients of anyone at this level of leadership within the network. It is her commitment to her patients and her patient-first philosophy that truly set Dr. Chan apart. During the pandemic, she was the clinical lead for all COVID operations for her medical group, and led the broad rollout of telehealth and designed integrated care programs to close the gap between mental and physical health. She spearheaded initiatives that improved blood pressure control in BIPOC communities, expanded post-discharge care, and built care models that centered the patient, not the system. She listens to her patients, gets to the root cause, and her patients have stayed with her for decades. As a native of Los Angeles, Dr. Chan has deep roots in the local care community. She trained at LA County–USC and has dedicated her career to building trusted relationships across every corner of the healthcare ecosystem, from imaging to specialty care. Her leadership helped make her division the highest-performing medical group across Providence for five consecutive years. Dr. Chan was drawn to Era because of a shared belief: women deserve care that is intelligent, comprehensive, and grounded in how their biology shapes every system of the body — from cardiovascular and metabolic health to cognition, hormones, digestion, and beyond. She saw in Era a place where medicine could finally reflect the complexity and brilliance of its patients.
